I have had the opportunity to teach linguistics, French, and Spanish at various levels from middle school to graduate school. I value a hands-on approach to teaching in which students actively participate in class to practice application of the skills they are learning. In foreign language classes, this means an emphasis on language production, both speaking and writing. In linguistics classes, I prefer a typological approach, emphasizing the variation that exists among languages.
